What should I do now? Will it hurt my car? Should I get ta oil change? Help! Hurry what should I do?I put transmission fluid inside my engine by mistake. I did add a quart of motor oil with it.?
Ok, calm down. What kind of car is it? Is it a 20 year old clunker or is it more late model? Did you run the engine yet? If not, Drain it and fill it with the appropriate quantity and grade of oil. If you did run the engine then you should change the filter as well. If all you did was start it for a few seconds it most likely didn't do any damage. Just make sure that you put the right stuff in next time. Good luckI put transmission fluid inside my engine by mistake. I did add a quart of motor oil with it.?
Drain it, replace the oil filter and re-fill with oil. Do not run your engine with that mixture.
definately go get your oil changed. a guy at autozone told this guy i know to add a little trans fluid with his oil and it tore his motor up. make sure they change your filter too.
all that the atf is going to do is clean the insides, relax, drive it for a day, pick up new materials and do it again.
Change the oil.
Adding a quart of transmission fluid to the oil was a shade tree way of dissolving sludge in the crankcase back in the days when sludge was par for the course... up to the 1970s.
The short story is there is no reason to believe it hurt your engine if you didn't drive it hard. Drain it out, put oil in, life is good.
change the oil and filter. do not start it at all, when you do this drain all the oil until you see no more oil coming out. b4 u put the drain plug back on put two qts of oil in and let it drain out. when you c no more oil coming out put the drain plug back in and put fresh oil in and install the new oil filter.
