i havent really seen this myself.Ive heard that the eco tec engines on Opel Corsas are hard on motor oil?

i heard the same thing yesterday but havent heard it about any other make or model
No different to any other engine in the same category. The turbodiesels burn a little bit, but nothing untoward.
The diesels drink oil (although it's only 3 litres per 5000 miles) but the petrol ecotec engines are fine. No better no worse than anything else.





Brother in laws ecotec astra did 139000 miles, and the 5 litre bottle of Castrol the dealer ship gave him from new is still half full. Can't be that bad then!





Nothing wrong with an engine that needs top ups every now and then.
