My 2001 dodge durango 4.7 liter wont start. The oil came out of the motor to by where the air filter is ?

I believe you've blown your motor up. Not sure how you did this, but I suspect you burned a piston, blew the oil out of the engine and ended up with some being blown back through the intake tract. If you ran the engine 2 quarts low, you'd pretty much toast the engine as you'd destroy the cam(s). Since you had no oil in the engine, it's destroyed and so full of metal debris that I'd not advise attempting a rebuild.

This could not have happened without all kinds of warning lights coming on. You should have seen an Engine Temp warning and then a low Oil Pressure warning as the engine was dieing!

At this point, I'm afraid the vehicle is worthless. Your best option will be to find someone who can put a good used engine into the vehicle. Expect this will cost $3000 - $5000.

Start by draining the oil from the engine.

You are hoping to get about 5 qts. of oil out.

If you get much more than 5 qts. you have serious issues at hand.

Start by draining the oil that is contaminated with the gas first.
oh~~ good luck
