5w20 motor oil specified for 08 accord?

in warm/hot year around climate(san antonio) i want to use redline10w30 synthetic at first change, or possibly 5w30, can this actually damage engine, the folks at amsoil state emphatically that a 30 weight oil would actually offer more protection, beating it to death, so much conflicting information5w20 motor oil specified for 08 accord?
Here we go again. Some oil company or representative thinks they're smarter than the people who built and designed your car.

Why don't you keep your new car warranty fully intact and use Mobil1 full synthetic 5W-20? If something mechanical should happen to your motor your local Honda dealer are the people who's going to open it up. Do you realize you will be required to show receipts for any oil changes done outside the dealer? What do you think Honda will say if you stand there with a broken motor with receipts for the incorrect viscosity oil?

If you don't think 5W-20 will hack the mission go to Joe Gibbs Racing Oil to learn what the Gibbs team uses in their crankcases to qualify, run on restrictor plate tracks and when restrictor plates are not used.

You don't need to worry about a small street automobile beating the oil to death. Compare 850 horsepower @9,500 rpm for five hundred miles using lighter viscosity oil than what you had previously thought was adequate.

Please understand racing oil should not be used on the street as it contains enough zinc and phosphorus to ruin a catalytic converter in no time.

I'll save you the time. XPO = 0 weight synthetic oil for qualifying restrictor plate engines.

XP-1 = 5W-20 synthetic for unrestricted motors during races.

XP-2 = 0W-20 synthetic used in restrictor plate races.

The above only demonstrates it's not necessary to pour some thick molasses in your crankcase to adequately protect moving parts. Light oil cools moving parts faster and more efficiently. It creates less drag on the oil pump costing you horsepower. Light oil pumps to critical engine parts faster on cold start-ups.

By the way nobody that races in Nextel cup on Sunday, Nationwide on Saturday or Craftsman trucks uses Amzoil Royal Purple or Redline Oil.5w20 motor oil specified for 08 accord?
the manufacturer recommends the oil grade but it is not the only grade you can use.
I'd use what Honda suggests, read your owners manual.
